Today I have been updating the website!! There is new information and photos in the kit section, and photos in the "about" section. Below is a photo of the "Charm squares" section.

Charm squares are precut 5" squares that fabric companies have been coming out with lately (along with "layer cakes", "jelly rolls" and "sweet sixteens"). They give you a good head start on a quilt since they are all precision cut. They include one or more of each and every fabric in a "line" of fabric-- so they can vary from about 25 in a pack to 70 in a pack. Usually there are about 40 in a pack. The ones we have in stock now are listed below:

and finally for today, we got in a bunch of new threads. They are 3 strand floss in a ball by Valdani, to use for punch needle embroidery, so that you have a really long thread and don't need to re-thread your punch needle.

June 23,2008, Although it just officially became summer this past weekend, Christmas fabrics have begun to arrive. We have a line by Holly Taylor for moda, and the Kansas Troubles Christmas grouping. As well there are lots of other Christmas fabrics-- lots of cardinals and pointsettias..

But, back to summer, we have a couple of new kits for you to take to the lake. There is an adorable little candle mat done in wool with rabbits jumping around on it for only $10.95!!

As well, if you are into the cabin theme, there is a nice couch throw with moose and fish on it done in cotton fabrics, called Big Sky Country.

We have changed the offer we had on when you buy all the fabric left on a bolt!! Change is good, especially after 7 years!!! Previously, we offered a discount of 30% when you bought all the fabric left on a bolt. Now we are offering 40%!!!! but only on the fourth friday of the month. Easy to remember -- fourth friday, forty percent... Hope you can take advantage of this to get some really good deals. You can try it out this friday-- the 27th of June!!!

the Next Periwinkle Quilting Retreat Weekend! November 14,15 and 16, 2008 — Friday morning through Sunday pm.

Last November we held our first retreat at Shekinah timber lodge, just 40 minutes north of Saskatoon, near Waldheim. It was a great time, and inspiring to see all the different projects people were working on. If you have been thinking about a retreat weekend in which we can get away from the phones, the meal preparation and housework, and most importantly, spend some extended quality time with other women, quilting, or stitching or knitting or scrapbooking then this is for you!! All meals are included, and the room for the 2 nights.

Although we don’t have any specific classes to offer, I, Michelle will be happy to be available to demo things, or to troubleshoot or to answer any quilt related questions.... altho I’m sure there will be many more knowledgeable quilters there who will have advice if needed. .... as well, we’ll just have a lot of fun.

We have a list of people interested in attending, and we'll have to get serious in September about confirming who is coming (by way of a deposit!), so think about whether you want to come or not and let us know.
