1. Learn to Quilt: 7 weeks ..... Sandy or Deb / $148.00
Embark on a great hobby and meet new people at the same time. You'll the basics of rotary cutting, strip piecing, block setting, borders and binding, and quilting by hand and machine. The instructor is one of the most experienced quilters and quilt teachers available, and is a treasure store of information. You will lay a good foundation for your future quilting projects..

2. Stack the Deck/Buggy Barn Basics one full day, $44.00

There's a technique in quilting that involves stacking different fabrics, making a cut through all the layers and reassembling them in different color combinations. The Buggy Barn designers have really done a wide variety of patterns and there is also a variety of Stack 'n Slash books with great designs as well. It's a fun techniquee, and one you will be glad you tried..

3. Ragged Flannel Quilt, Level I: 3 hours .... Wendy or

A ragged flannel quilt is very cozy, and the seams are turned into fluffy fringeon the top of the quilt. This project is perfect for a new quilter to sample how much FUN quilting can be, or an exciting technique for experienced quilters to see progress FAST. The flannels make it a very soft cuddly quilt. Pattern included. Limit 6 per class.

4. Machine Quilting: 6 hours with Sandy, all levels / $44.00

You will learn to use your machine to add texture and depth to your projects using free motion, stippling and basic straight stitch. You’ll see how different batting and thread affect the look, and fine-tune your tension settings and needle/thread combinations to make the process as trouble-free as possible.
5. Planning Your Quilting Design .... 6 hours, all
levels / $44.00 
This is a design class to get all sorts of hints and techniques about how to decide on and execute the "quilting" part of your projects. Usually the instructions just say, "Quilt as desired", but how helpful is that?! Learn some of the things to consider in order to make the quilting truly the "icing on the cake".
6. Aprons!: 3 hours / Deb

Aprons are back in style, that is if they ever went out of style. What is new is all the stylish patterns that are turning up these days, not only for adults, but for little girls too. They are so cute!! This is a nice introduction to sewing if you are new to it. .

7. Borders and Binding: 3 hours ... Sandy / $28.00

Finishing the quilt!! Measuring for borders, sandwiching the quilt and putting on the binding are important parts of the whole quilting experience. Learn these techniques and some hanging sleeve and label ideas as well.

8. Color and Texture:two 3 hour classes... Judy /

You'll do activities that focus on the basics of color theory including the color wheel, value, why value matters, what textures exist in fabrics and how to use them. Lots of discussion and lots of fun...
9. Composition and Design in Quilts: two 3 hour

Exercises with fabric will focus on concepts such as balance, eye pathways, background and foreground, patter, borders and the central area, unity and variety Empasis will be on individual choices, and students will better understand what is important in a coposition, and what sorts of design elements they most want to use in their own quilts.

10. Color Inside and Outside the Lines: two 3 hour classes...

Making a strip-pieced backgound provides a good overview of the sorts of calculations needed when beginning a project. Then, black oulines are placed where the elements and composition come into play. You will probaboly go home with a completed top, with your project well underway.

This is a fun way to use fabric to make interesting and useful containers; you will take home a finished bowl from the class.

12. Punchneedle Embroidery
This is an easy technique that yields exquisite little pictures that look like miniature hooked rugs. You'll be surprised at how easy it is, and how quickly the project works up. You'll need to purchase a punchneedle if you haven't got one This is a really fun class.

Cut and alter and add to a sweatshirt to turn it into a great cardigan jacket that will be perfect for a light fall jacket or an indoor warm-up.

Learn to braid your own rug in this timeless technique. You’ll make a small round version. You can use up all those unknown fiber fabrics in your stash to make something that is both practical and beautiful! (See also Intermediate Rug Braiding below.)

This is a venerable technique of rug hooking strips of felted woven wool through a burlap or linen base cloth. The rugs you make with this method can last for decades.

Quilting by hand can be a wonderfully relaxing activity. If you would like to learn this technique, and tips on how to perfect your stitch, then this is your opportunity.

When you see a redwork quilt, you might be reminded of quilts from the 1930's when this style was all the rage. You'll learn the basic embroidery stitch used, as well as how to transfer the designs to you r fabric and ideas of how to use your completed stitchery in a larger project.

A full day of fun that will get you well on the way to a completed quilt top. Sandy will present a number of patterns that all begin with STRIPS. You can cut strips from your stash, or have them readycut by purchasing one of the new "Jelly Rolls" that have 40 pre-cut 2" stripsall from the same "collection".

An all-day sewing session that will be based on quilt designs that start with the use of 5" or 6" squares. Lots of opportunity to look at different designs and discuss the "what ifs" of using different fabrics or sizes.

This strip pieceing technique is based on a Ricky Tims design. It is fun to see how colors in fabric behave when placed adjacent to other colors. You'll make a really lovely contemporary style wall hanging

This project class is a lot of fun, and you may just be putting the binding on by the end of the class!! It is a sew and flip technique done right on your batting and backing, so it is quilted as you piece it!!!

This technique is a type of raw edge appliqué combined with a nifty cutting technique that sews up quite fast. You can choose from different shapes and settings to alter this quilt's design. It's excellent opportunity to use leftover fabrics from other projects. We also have a kit for this quilt.

30. Reversible Quilting: 6 hours ... Flora / $42.00

In this technique you sew the front and back of the quilt at once, forming patterns on both sides of the quilt. The blocks are connected after they are sewn and quilted. You can have a lot of fun picking the fabrics for this project.

Make an "art" quilt by combining focus blocks cut from a special fabric or panel with color co-ordinated nine-patch blocks. Every quilt can be different, and you won't be able to stop sewing at "just one".

32. Stained Glass Quilting: 3 hours ... Deb

This technique emulates the look of stained glass in fabric. This is not the technique that uses the bias tape, but rather, the outlines are cut from one large piece of black fabric that overlays the colored patches

This is the applique technique by Eleanor Burns which uses the fusible interfacing technique. This technique is also useful to make Grandmother's Flower Gardern Patterns.

We've always had lots of requests for a class for this technique, and have persuaded Sandy to take up the challenge of teaching it. This technique will open your mind to the possibilities of strip piecing, and the designs are fascinating.

Wool is wonderful to work with! It is soft and squishy, and when you combine it with colored thread embroidery, the results are irresistable. Learn several embroidery stitches. Come prepared to stitch!

This wall hanging project will have you looking at fabric very closely. It is a wonderful exercise to hone your skills in using "value" in your fabric choices. The wreath can be a circle or heart shape, and is based on a "seasonal" theme.
