What is a BOM: 'Block of the Month'?

In general, 'Block of the Month' (BOM) programs are kits for a project that are purchased on a block by block basis. There are different details for every Block of the Month project, such as how many months it runs, how much it costs, whether sign-up is required, and so on. 

Current BOM Projects

1. Saturday Surprise Sampler 2009-2010 (Round 8) "French General" and Robyn Pandolph Pastels

This program is our most popular Block of the Month by far. This is the 8th time we've offered this project, and we are very excited about the possibilities for new quilt projects.

How it works:    Each kit includes the fabric and pattern for a block that will finish at 12" square.  You can do whatever you want with your blocks, from making a queen size quilt, or 2 single quilts, or even just a few baby quilts or table runners.

Fabrics:   This Year we are offering the kits in two different colorways.

One colorway uses fabrics from moda, by their newest designers, French General! The colors are very elegant, with names like Turkey Red, Oyster, Pearl, Washed Red and Brown.

Number of Kits:  20 (buy as many or as few as you like)

Size of Quilt: variable

 

Cost per Kit:

$5.00 when you buy in store, $6.00 by mail order (Sign-up required? -- only for mail order, otherwise just come in and pick it up)

Other info: buy as few or as many kits as you like—if you buy at least 10 kits, you can get 30% off the fabric to finish your quilt top.

Setting Solutions:  We have 20 one-page patterns available for different settings that include a diagram of the finished project, yardage, cutting charts and instructions.  They are $1 each or you can get them all in a booklet form. 

S how and Tell:  In the autumn we have a Saturday morning where we invite you to bring in your project to join in a show and tell.  It is exciting to see all the different projects that people have done with their blocks.
